THE PETITION

We the undersigned pledge our support for the excellent initiative by Autism NI (PAPA) in launching a programme of action aimed at making the proposed Northern Ireland AUTISM ACT a meaningful piece of legislation.

The new Northern Ireland AUTISM ACT would guarantee the future security and rights of those on the Autistic Spectrum and would combat the tragic social injustice being perpetuated through lack of planning and funding at a time when the numbers of individuals with Autism is increasing dramatically.

The Number of school age children has tripled in the last 3 years

Waiting time for diagnosis has now topped 35 months

The number of people diagnosed with Autism now exceeds the combined totals of people with Multiple Sclerosis, Down's Syndrome and Parkinson's Disease.

DESIRED OUTCOME

Legislation for Autism in Northern Ireland

WHO WE NEED TO INFLUENCE

The Northern Ireland First Minister

HOW LONG WILL WE CAMPAIGN

Indefinitely - until we have legislation

WHO TO CONTACT

Arlene Cassidy – Arlene@autismni.org
