Compensation For Endowment Mis-selling

THE PETITION During the eighties, endowment mortgages were the popular method of financing a mortgage. Some 8 million people in the UK now own an endowment policy, it is expected that the majority of these policies will fail to pay off the mortgage debt.
The latest estimate is that there will be a £40BN shortfall. The endowment policy mis-selling scandal is one of the worst financial scandals to hit the UK.
Endowment policy holders, and home owners, are going to end up paying the price for the mis-selling of these products by the "professionals".
The life assurance companies are doing everything possible to avoid liability. They state that endowment policies were investments, and as such there was always a risk that they would fall.
The reality was that they were sold as products, like TV's or cars. There was little or no mention of risks, and the inference was that there would be no loss.
When you buy a TV or car that is not "fit for purpose" you are entitled to a replacement product that works, or compensation. The same should apply here.
I have been trying to claim compensation since Sept 2002, and have kept an on line diary of my efforts "The Endowment Diary" on my website www.kenfrost.com "The Living Brand".
If you feel that failing endowment policies should be treated in the same way as a consumer product that is "not fit for purpose"; namely that the shortfall should be made good by the life assurance companies, then sign the petition and pass it on to others to sign.
Thank you.
