Lower tax on petrol and diesel in the UK

THE PETITION I am sure like me many of you have no option but to use your cars to get to and from work. Why, because like me you cannot live near to your work place- the public transport system is either too expensive, not reliable enough or you need to use your car to get to and from the staion. In short the car is not a luxury item it is a lifeline for most.
It is time the British public put a stop to the ever increasing price rises on motoring. Think for a moment how much of your hard earned money each month goes on simply getting to and from work - for what? - to pay for the privelege of going to work to line the coffers of a government who only recently admitted it has billions of pounds spare in the treasury, a government who admits it collects 36 billion from tax on petrol and diesel and only spends 6 billion or less on roads and transport improvement.
How many billions are collected each year of your hard earned income to pay for what?
DESIRED OUTCOME A vast reduction in the price of petrol and diesel , as £8 out of every £10 of fuel going into our cars is tax a good start would be a reduction of at least 50%.
WHO WE NEED TO INFLUENCE We need to influence the UK government : http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/
HOW LONG WILL WE CAMPAIGN Until the Government reduces the taxes on petrol and diesel.
